The Start of Something Amazing

Congratulations!

You get the honor and privilege of reading my first blog post! #winning

Let’s just say that starting a blog is like strapping an electrified ball of anxiety on your shoulders for a few months until one day you wake up, look at the ball in the mirror and think, “why don’t I actually get rid of this today?”

How was that for my first post?

No?

Okay, let’s try again.

Hi, I’m Antoinette! How are you? You can read more about me later, but let’s just say that starting a blog was an interesting process.

The technical part was easy because I’m a designer; but, having the courage to post/expose my thoughts to the world was not. Fear crept in and whispered doubts that, on the surface, appeared to have merit. Doubts such as, “why am I doing this?” and “who is going to read this blog anyway?” This evil whisperer said things like, “this is stupid. Where am I going to get the time? And the equipment? People will laugh at you!” But you know what? Those were all lies designed to keep me from not starting in the first place. They were designed to keep me paralyzed so that I doubted myself, my abilities, and my purpose. I’m so glad I didn’t listen!

Those were all lies designed to keep me from not starting in the first place…I’m so glad I didn’t listen!

I started this blog because, well, I’ve learned so much in the past couple of months (years?) that I thought I’d share some of what I know, what I’ve seen, and what I hope to experience- as playfully and as courageously as possible. I’ve also noticed quite a few people *cough* myself, not taking advantage of the truly amazing life I’ve been given. Through the help of a very wise person, I realized that I was holding my present hostage for a future that may or may not happen so I decided to flip the script.

Today is going to be a good day because I acted on something I’ve thought about for a while. I didn’t have the courage to take action then, but I do now. I’m going to travel. I’m going to do the things I enjoy. I’m going to discover new things to enjoy. I’m going to learn, play, grow, and actually live my life. I will be confident in who God made me to be. I will own my strengths, develop my weaknesses, and tackle life with my signature playful, yet logical, style. It’s time to stop listening to the paralyzing lies. It’s time to stop creating excuses and just do it. Don’t just talk about it, be about it! I encourage you to Frolic. Have Courage. Go.

So…with a playful spirit and the courage to take action, here begins Frolic & Courage!
