Starting on Feb 27, 2025 Uber’s Preferred Currency Pricing goes into effect. This new feature might automatically charge you a 1.5% conversion fee if you don’t opt out.

Here’s how to avoid it:

1️⃣ Check your fare settings in the app now! Open the Uber app, go to Account > Wallet > Preferred Currency.

2️⃣ Set your Preferred Currency to “No Preferred Currency”. This means Uber will charge your card based on the local currency of wherever you’re at. Otherwise, if you’re away from your home country, you’ll have to pay the 1.5% fee.

3️⃣ Update your Payment Method to a card that doesn’t charge foreign transaction fees. If you travel abroad and don’t follow steps 2 & 3 before you book an Uber, you will be charged TWICE - once for Uber’s 1.5% fee and another 1-3% fee from your card issuer. ALWAYS CHECK your bank’s foreign transaction fees to avoid surprises

Review your settings NOW to save on your next Uber ride and share this with anyone who needs to see this before their next trip abroad. 🚗💨

🍽️ Dinner: Le Tren Bleu – Don’t miss their famous roasted lamb! 😉

✨ Day 2 ✨
🖼️ What to Do: Louvre Museum – We admired the Mona Lisa, Crown Jewels, and stunning sculptures like Winged Victory of Samothrace.
☕ Lunch: Angelina – A Parisian classic, just steps from the Louvre.
🚶🏽‍♀️ Activity: A leisurely walk around Paris, soaking in the ambiance.
🚢 Evening: Seine River Dinner Cruise with Bateaux Parisiens – Enjoy a 3-course French meal with wine while cruising the Seine. Book Premier Tickets for the best view.

✨ Day 4 ✨
🏰 Paris Highlight: Palace of Versailles Day Trip from Paris – Wander through the opulent palace rooms, Hall of Mirrors, gardens, Estates of Trianon, and the enchanting Queen’s Hamlet.

🤩 Can this blue water be anymore stunning?! 👀 💙

⛵️ While in Athens, my Hun and I took a day trip to the Greek Islands of Agistri, Aegina, and Moni. It was one of the highlights of our 5 days in Athens but there are over 6,000 Greek Islands to explore!

🇬🇷 How do you figure out which island, or area, to visit? Discover the best day trip options from Athens including the picturesque Athens Riviera, historic Delphi, vibrant Thessaloniki, and stunning Cape Sounion. Don’t miss the chance to visit the idyllic islands, just a short boat (or ride) away. Consider exploring the Greek Islands as the ultimate day trip from Athens!

ℹ️ Checkout my “How to Plan a Trip to Athens” YouTube video for more info (YT link in bio) and the @visitgreecegr website for more info on each Greek Island [www.visitgreece.gr/islands]
